Is there a better alternative to Quizlet?
We have compiled a list of solutions that reviewers voted as the best overall alternatives and competitors to Quizlet, including Kahoot!, Quizizz, Brainscape, and Course Hero.
Definition of Decision Making
Trewatha & Newport defines decision making process as follows:, “Decision-making involves the selection of a course of action from among two or more possible alternatives in order to arrive at a solution for a given problem”.
Which of the following alternatives to the underlined portion would NOT be acceptable? The answer is "J" because of sentence structure and it is a run on sentence.
Unlimited access to Learn and Test modes is now available only with a Quizlet subscription, and Gravity is no longer available.
However, if you're looking for a more fun and engaging way to learn then Quizlet is the app for you. As Anki uses spaced repetition it is definitely the more effective of the two flashcard apps for getting you to learn vocab.
Quizlet is a great flashcard-based app, but StudySmarter trumps it by far in many of its features. In addition to flashcards and progress-tracking, StudySmarter offers explanations on any subject both for schools and universities. And, if you're really a fan of Quizlet flashcards, you can import them to StudySmarter.
First, the alternative should match the goals and objectives of the business. Second, the alternative should match the current assessment of the strengths of the business. Third, market opportunities need to exist for the products. Lastly, the product should be able to be made efficiently and effectively.
A decision is a choice made between two or more available alternatives. Decision making is the process of choosing the best alternative for reaching objectives.
Selecting one from the various alternatives is called decision making. When trying to make a good decision, a person must weigh the positives and negatives of each option, and consider all the best possible alternative.
Trade-offs are all the alternatives that we give up whenever we choose one course of action over others. The most desirable alternative given up as a result of a decision is known as opportunity cost.
When there is no easy solution and you must choose between two equally unsatisfactory alternatives you are facing an?
An ethical dilemma (ethical paradox or moral dilemma) is a problem in the decision-making process between two possible options, neither of which is absolutely acceptable from an ethical perspective.
The incorrect options are called distractors because they are considered to be “distracting” to students with partial knowledge due to their plausibility to yield the correct option.

Specifically, Quizlet states that any of the following is a violation of their honor code: Posting the answers to a test and sharing them with others. Searching Quizlet for answers and using them to cheat on an at-home assessment. Using Quizlet on your phone in class to find answers.
Both platforms cover many subjects, from generic to niche topics. However, Chegg favors study tools, answers, and similar resources. Quizlet has a more practical approach and helps students test themselves to ensure they haven't wasted time going through the study guides and other educational resources.
Quizlet Plus offers good value if you use the app regularly, although we do wish there were a monthly subscription option or ability to pause a subscription to make it more amenable for those who don't study year-round.
Anki. Overview: A powerful flashcard app that uses spaced repetition to make your studies more efficient and effective. Even after testing many other flashcard apps, Anki remains my top recommendation.
“It's a lot more efficient than traditional study methods, and you can either greatly decrease your time spent studying or greatly increase the amount that you learn,” says Skillshare instructor Ali Abdaal. Anki is super flexible, and you can use the system to create and study flashcards on any subject you'd like.
In Brainscape, the creation process for flashcards is a little less intuitive than Quizlet. However, I like the feature in Brainscape that allows you rate your knowledge of the card, allowing it to be shuffled more frequently or less frequently in the deck. I also like the content on Brainscape better than Quizlet.
Best Overall Study App: Evernote
Evernote is using for getting all your notes and schedules streamlined. Special functions include the ability to enhance notetaking with checklists, links, attachments and even audio recordings.
It's very popular with students, and many are likely using the site legitimately. But some students are also using the tool to upload questions from real exams, and other students are finding them. "Yeah sex is cool and all but have you ever found your entire final on quizlet [sic],” asks one student in a tweet.
What study method is most effective?
One of the most impactful learning strategies is “distributed practice”—spacing out your studying over several short periods of time over several days and weeks (Newport, 2007). The most effective practice is to work a short time on each class every day.
When selecting from among alternatives, managers can use three basic approaches: (1) experience, (2) experimentation, and (3) research and analysis (Figure 6-1).
Experience, experimentation, and research and analysis are the three common tools or approaches for choosing the best alternative in decision making.
Alternatives should reflect substantially different approaches to the problem or different priorities across objectives, and should present decision makers with real options and choices. Good solutions are not possible without good alternatives.
Definition. Choice alternatives are the different behaviors considered by consumers in decision making; they are usually the products or brands considered for purchase.[1]
: a proposition or situation offering a choice between two or more things only one of which may be chosen. : one of two or more things, courses, or propositions to be chosen. : something which can be chosen instead.
Some common synonyms of alternative are choice, election, option, preference, and selection. While all these words mean "the act or opportunity of choosing or the thing chosen," alternative implies a need to choose one and reject another possibility.
The obvious way to identify alternatives is brainstorming. This can be the classic 'get everyone in a room' method, or it could be a simple chat with a colleague. The usual brainstorming is to be completely open, or it can be bounded towards the alternatives required.
- List the alternatives you are considering.
- Brainstorm decision criteria (remember, identify all possibilities before critiquing them).
- Discuss the suggested criteria.
- Narrow the list of criteria to 3-6 criteria.
- Establish a rating scale (e.g., 0-5 or 1-10).
- Rate each of the alternatives on each of the criteria.
- Postpone evaluating alternatives initially.
- Include all involved individuals in the generating of alternatives.
- Specify alternatives consistent with organizational goals.
- Specify short- and long-term alternatives.
- Brainstorm on others' ideas.
- Seek alternatives that may solve the problem.
What are the only two alternatives possible?
A dichotomous question has only two response alternatives: yes or no, agree or disagree, and so on. Often, the two alternatives of interest are supplemented by a neutral alternative, such as “no opinion,” “don't know,” “both,” or “none.”
The most desired ALTERNATIVE given up as the result of a decision is called OPPORTUNITY COST.
Opportunity cost is the value of the next best alternative to a given choice.
Consider as many as solutions as possible — five or more in most cases, three at the barest minimum.
An ethical dilemma is a morally problematic situation: You have to pick between two or more acceptable but often opposing alternatives that are important to different groups. Experts often frame this type of situation as a “right-versus-right” decision.
A dilemma is a situation where there is no clear “best choice” between two or more alternatives.
Read the questions carefully.
Questions give away a lot of information, so read them closely. Always try to think of the correct answer before you look at the multiple answers provided. Cover the answers while you read the question so that you can think without being distracted. Read all the possible answers.
A multiple choice item consists of a problem, known as the stem, and a list of suggested solutions, known as alternatives. The alternatives consist of one correct or best alternative, which is the answer, and incorrect or inferior alternatives, known as distractors.
Alternative Response is an approach to working with families to safely care for children in their own homes and communities. Alternative response is a different way to respond to allegations of abuse or neglect so children can stay in their homes.
Other interesting free alternatives to Quizlet are AnkiDroid, Memrise, RemNote and Mochi. Quizlet alternatives are mainly Flashcard Learning Tools but may also be Language Learning Tools or Note-taking Tools. Filter by these if you want a narrower list of alternatives or looking for a specific functionality of Quizlet.

The online study platform is no longer offering all of its learning services for free, creating challenges for students who depend on these programs in our digital age.
Specifically, Quizlet states that any of the following is a violation of their honor code: Posting the answers to a test and sharing them with others. Searching Quizlet for answers and using them to cheat on an at-home assessment. Using Quizlet on your phone in class to find answers.
With a decent free account and plenty of advanced features in the Plus version, Quizlet is a great tool for students or anyone looking to learn. For all these reasons, Quizlet is an Editors' Choice product among online learning services. It's also one of our top-rated online learning services for kids.
Most of the time, an answer on Quizlet will pop up. Professors are aware of this though, which is why some might chose to use software to catch cheating.
As you might guess, Chegg doesn't go around sending emails to every prof whose students are using Chegg Study. However, there are some pretty clear giveaways when students are using Chegg to complete their homework, and some professors have sharp eyes when it comes to catching Chegg users.
The site previously could share data like usernames, emails and IP addresses with colleges to identify students suspected of cheating. Chegg has updated its policy to no longer disclose students' information. Now it only provides colleges with dates and time stamps of when materials are uploaded or answered by students ...
Because Quizlet allows any user to create and share a study set, there is no guarantee the information is accurate. If a student logs in and chooses a set created by someone else, there's a possibility they could accidentally study incorrect information!
Cons: The special stuff is limited to school/district plans. Challenging to sift through the content library. Bottom Line: More than a quiz tool: With Quizizz you can create interactive learning experiences, but you'll need a school subscription.
If students need to memorize facts, Quizlet is an ideal tool that removes some of the drudgery while adding some handy features. Teachers can ask students to use Quizlet on their own time as homework or to create their own custom flash card sets for Quizlet Live competitions.
Is Brainscape worth it?
As a tool for learning new concepts, Brainscape isn't ideal (as it would simply teach by revealing answers repeatedly), but for reviewing previously learned concepts, it's excellent and can be easily implemented into the class either via the app or web browser.
Brainscape's mission is to help as many people as possible to improve their study effectiveness. As such, we make it completely free to create flashcards, share them with your classmates (or students), and study them (on both the website and the mobile app) using our scientifically proven adaptive learning technology.
